ABOUT RISING STRONG™ IN RECOVERY

Rising Strong™ is a highly experiential methodology based on the research of Dr. Brené Brown. During the process participants explore topics such as vulnerability, courage, shame, and worthiness. Participants are invited to examine the thoughts, emotions, and behaviors that are holding them back and identify the new choices and practices that will move them toward more authentic and wholehearted living. The primary focus is on developing shame resilience skills and developing daily practices that transform the way we live, love, parent, and lead.

In our busy lives, we rarely share the challenges of falling and rising from struggle. In this 10-week experiential group, participants will identify areas of struggle in recovery while learning how to rumble with shame, grief and vulnerability to prevent relapse.

About the Facilitators Rachael Dunkel is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Licensed Addiction Counselor. She has been a student of Brené’s work and research since 2012. She completed her Clinical Daring Way™ training in 2017 and is currently a Certified Daring Way™ Facilitator. Rachael is also trained in the Rising Strong™ methodology. "Since my first introduction to Brené’s work back in 2012, I've seen the power of owning your story both personally and professionally. We as a culture do not talk about shame and yet we feel it in all areas of our lives. Through this coursework, we can learn to show up, be seen and live brave together." - Rachael L. Dunkel
