Group therapy.jpg

Group counseling is a process in which 4-8 clients meet once a week for an hour and a half to address a variety of issues. Some of the issues we address include:

  • Substance abuse
  • Relapse prevention issues
  • Depression
  • Traumatic experiences
  • Grief
  • Lacking of coping skills

Research has found that a few of the therapeutic factors that influence change from this type of therapy include instillation of hope creating a feeling of optimism, group cohesiveness giving members a sense of acceptable, belonging, security and value, & catharsis, which releases suppressed emotions and promotes healing by disclosing information to group members.
