Challenges During the Teenage Years
Being a teenager is tough, especially right now. You want to be independent and make your own choices, but you still depend on your parents. While you’re living at home, you’re likely expected to follow their rules and meet their expectations. But, sometimes, you don’t agree with them and you don’t understand why they’re so strict!
Oftentimes, you feel stuck and overwhelmed by your negative thoughts.
This makes it hard for you to do the things you’re supposed to do and live a happy life. When this happens, you feel totally lost. You wish you had the answers for how to handle all the changes and challenges you’re experiencing. But, you’ve never dealt with these things before.
Add into the mix all the challenges that come with being a high schooler. You have to make big life decisions, deal with peer pressure, and possibly date... It can all feel like too much! You’ve noticed that you spend a lot of time worrying and obsessing over things that are truly out of your control, but you can’t stop. Or maybe, you’re constantly comparing yourself or your life to your classmates. This leads you down a shame spiral and causes you to think nasty things about yourself.
